He's coming, he's coming....Who??? The Silhouette Man!!

Karl Johnson... Silhouette Artist Extraordinaire is COMING!

I simply love when things work out as you want them too! Gotta love the law of attraction :)

So in my previous post I was on the hunt down for somebody, like Karl Johnson (image of the elephant), to come and do these silhouette cuttings for people for the holidays. Well, ask and you shall receive. His wife has contacted me and he, himself, is coming!! Can you believe it! All the way from LA for you!

So here is the great part, he not only does children, but will do adults, pets, and if you have a profile picture and can't bring the child, he will do that as well. It takes 1-5 minutes and your leaving the store with an amazing heirloom that will last forever. Why not do your whole family and have it framed. How about your birth announcement, and do your profile of your pregnant belly? You know that every grandparent would want one, every mother, aunt... this is such an amazing gift for an amazing price...... $35 dollars! The holidays are right here people, what to get that person that has everything....THIS! Oh and how about your wedding invitations!!

We need to have at least 100 people signed up, so email me, call, or stop in to put your name down. He will only be here for 1 day, Saturday December 6th. We will take appointments starting at 9am and will book the whole day! We will want to give him a lunch break, but we can fit a lot of people in that time!

He has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Parenting Magazine, Dillard's, In-Style Magazine, to name just a few!

Our number is 707) 525-8768 if you want to make an appointment. Or you can email me at info@teapotparties.com
We will be taking a credit card to hold the reservation, but it will not be charged until 5 days before the event.

This Economy....We need your help!

I am sure a lot of you are wondering how we are doing now that this Economy is in the dumps and we all are stretching to make ends meet, between the gas and living expenses. So, I thought I would update you.

Being a small business we rely on people coming in and spending their money so we can cover our expenses to pay rent, bills, and payroll. This does not include orders that we want to place. We need a certain amount of money every month to make this all happen. Because we rely on you shopping and choosing to spend your money here, we have to sit back and patiently wait to see if it is going to happen. We take this adventure day by day. We hope for the best and we get very excited if we make a big sale. We do not have reserve in a bank account somewhere. No, what you pay us, goes to pay our rent and so on. Which causes us to be scared that the economy is causing you to not shop as much. We all have to be very selective on what we want to spend our money on. Because of this, we have had to lower our prices. We can not afford to have you not shop with us. So we slash prices. We need something, every penny is counted here. Every penny goes to keeping our doors open.

We are not profiting on your dollar, at least not yet. Someday we may be like all those other big name store, but for now, we are just here to offer you imagination and inspiration in what we show in our store.

Please come and chose to spend your dollar here instead of Target or some other brand name store. It is the small businesses that are feeling the most pain. We need you. You are important to us.

I want to be clear when I say you are important I mean that it is not all about money to us, obviously, we are not making any..ha ha, but we love when you come in. When you share a bit of yourselves with us, we learn you story, we learn about your children, we create a relationship with you. We love our job, because of you!

So we ask a favor of you, that if you are having to attend a birthday party, or for Christmas and Hanukkah, please think of us. There may be a day when we can no longer be open to offer what we offer, if you go somewhere else. We know you would never let that happen!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Happy Birthday to Kobain and Me!

Kobain is 8 years old today! Yikes!

Every birthday morning I make the girls special birthday breakfasts.

Making the Rosettes at 6:30am! What we do for kids!
Kobain had to bring in a snack to school today, so we are making hummus in flowerpots with carrots sticking out (a little parsley on top to make it look like a real carrot that needs to be pulled). Ava is very excited about it!
My birthday girl!
Notice Michelle back there.. busy helping with the carrot stuffing! Thank goodness!

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you! I love you!

I asked for it....

I guess I can not complain if I send my girls up to the chicken coop early in the morning, on our way out the door to school and work, that I will be driving around all day with chicken eggs in the front seat of my car....ahhh the country life!

Unhappy People

So working in retail is quite an interesting event. Everyday you are placed face to face in peoples dark clouds or bright sunshine. I have personally taken it as a challenge to bring out the smiles in people. To make them laugh, smile, reminisce or just simply be in a better mood.

Yesterday there was a woman that walked in. I greeted her in my usual way, "hello, how are you doing today?" She said fine and walked around. I could tell she was going to be work. So I kept telling her about things, trying to connect with her, trying to get to that one place where she would open up. I told her about our party room.. she replied "we are not from around here", very ruff and cold. I took that opportunity and said, "oh really where are you from" and from there I had her. We talked about the wine country, about the seasons, the leaves, the heat, and right on into the grandchildren. She ended up not buying anything but I believe she had a light step when she left. I believe that I made her a bit happier :0)

May not have made a sale but I became a bit richer inside.

Sometimes we all have bad days, but if your going to walk into this store, better be prepared to smile!

Balls Balls Bouncing Balls

Okay I think I may have a problem.... I am in love with these crazy balls that we just got in.

People, I am serious! I had to beg and plead to get these balls in here. Kayse didn't think people would like them.. but they will, I promise! They are so fun to hold, to bounce to just watch and stare at. They are jumbo glitter balls. We also have the small ones~

Come buy them, you will be in love with them as much as I am!!!! Or at least come in and bounce one, if I can ever put them down!

Boo!

We hosted our Halloween event here on Saturday. It was a great success. I walked in to be greeted by Dorothy, complete with Toto in her basket. Then Robin appeared out of nowhere. Suddenly there was a kitty, a flamenco dancer, an Indian, a lady bug, a couple of fairies, a baby, a princess, Cinderella and snow white.
The children waited so patiently as I poured my concoction of witches brew out of my cauldron with the smoke bellowing out of all sides. Soon they were served cupcakes (but oh dear, my friend the unicorn had accidentally placed a lizards eyeball on top!). After the yummy treats were eaten up it was time to decorate trick or treat buckets. They children and the moms got right in and with a little of this and a lot of that, they had completed their Halloween trick or treat bucket.
We had a great time! I keep meaning to post pictures but I have to wait till I get home, this computer at work doesn't seem to allow me to post them off of my camera.
We had such a good time that we added another date. So mark your Calendar.
October 25th at 11am we will be doing it all again, but we have also added on a story time!
Come one, come all, but make sure you reserve early, spaces fill up fast!
Boo!

Bella's Holiday Shopping List

Bella, Kayse's 6 year old, has so nicely gone around the store with my camera (when I wasn't looking) and taken pictures of all the things she wants..I think you may want them too.. but I would do it now, as you are not the only one reading this and we have a limited supply!

The holidays are right around the corner. They are going to sneak up on you so quickly you will not know what hit you.

So I am here to help you out. Imagine this feeling, you are sitting on your sofa, its December 1st and your shopping list is all checked off.. that's right, you have finished your holiday shopping and you get to just relax while all the other people go crazy trying to find something for their loved one.

This feeling is the feeling I want to leave you with. Stop in to Teapot and let me help you check off everything that is on your list.

Mushroom Table (this can be used outside or in). Just imagine the look on your child's face when they see that you got them something that nobody else has....something that expands their imagination, that is adorable and that is not to expensive.

Or what about these yummy ceramic cupcake trinket boxes? They are perfect for hold your hair accessories or even money.

Then there are always the beloved hair clips. These are made locally by a mom who has a daughter with curls. She knows just how to accentuate in just the right ways.

And then don't forget about a tea set. Every child, boy or girl, likes to play tea party!

Thanks Bella, I will make sure your mom knows! Oh and P.S Bella would also like to have those pixie pajamas she is wearing....
Love Auntie, Ashley
